Hiya. I've been interested in starting training in diving for the last 18 months or so. I'm going to go with PADI, as I'm in the process of moving to NZ, and I feel that the PADI course/qualification will be better recognised internationally. However, I'm not certain how much I should be spending on a course that will teach me the basics. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks guys...

Kinda quiet round here eh?
I've been touted £299 at my local PADI club, for 5 training sessions, 2 in pool and some at Stoney Cove. Is that good, bad or average? I'd like to know if I'm getting ripped off, or a good deal.

Think that I paid around £250-300 for my open water diver a few years ago- so sounds like you have a good deal. Hope you enjoy it - safe diving

I belive the average cost is about £300
for a course PADI is more reconised than any other If you want to join a club over there check if they would reconize a PADI certificate

it takes as long as it takes if you need remedial traing it is included in the price,week end courses ,evenings.odd days .look at the web site.
